I visited the summit of O'Malley 5 times this summer. It is a
good hike to take vistors up because it has a spectacular view
and is fun to climb. This year, I also tried several new routes
to its top. One day my friend Trish and I did a monster hike --
we started out by climbing Wolverine, continued along the ridge
to Mt. Elliot (4,710'), and dropped off the ridge (blue line)
into Middle Frok Campbell Creek valley, and came up O'Malley from
the backside. It was close to 20 miles and 8,000 feet of vertical
when you add it all up.
