It was a scorcher -- about 70 degrees! Here I stand en route to the south summit of Pioneer Peak (6,350'), which stands off in the distance behind me. It was a long hike but well worth the effort. Unfortunately, smoke from some distant wildfires suppressed visibility. Otherwise the scenery would have been incredible. Oh well, looks like I will have to climb this one again...
