Pics from Summer, 2002

'Twas a busy, busy summer. We did quite a bit of camping, and Marty climbed many peaks

Here are some pics we scanned and unfortunately many are not of the best of quality (sorry!) To get back to this page, click on the blue 'back to summer, 2002 Index Page' link.

First, a Grab Bag of pics, including our day of kayaking at Eklutna Lake, a few shots from Matanuska Glacier, and even some pics of Gonka's old house in Rock Island.

Marty hiked the Crow Pass trail -- 26 miles -- one day.

Both Suicide Peaks were conquered in 2002 : North Suicide, and South Suicide

I revisited my old friend Tikishla once again

At over 6,100 feet, Matanuska Peak was a real challenge but with spectacular views!

Another one over 6,000 feet, Pioneer Peak was another death march.

An unsuccessful caribou hunting trip at least had some nice views.

Towards the end of the summer, two more of the dozen 5,000 footers in the front range of the Chugach fell : Avalanche Peak, and Hidden Peak
